ABOUT
Established in 2016, we have steadily grown over the past 10 years. We compete in the NCWA Northwest Conference and have helped UW Students become All-Americans and National Champions.
Our Mission and What We do
Husky Wrestling exists to support, promote, and expand wrestling opportunities through camps, competitions, educational programming, and initiatives in support of the continued development of the Husky Wrestling Club and the surrounding wrestling community.
Our Vision and Where We Are Going
To build a thriving wrestling community that creates a continuous pathway for athletes to learn, compete, lead, and remain connected to the sport by connecting youth, collegiate athletes, coaches, and alumni through wrestling.
Many athletes wrestle through youth and high school but stop because there isn't an obvious next step to continue competing and developing. Husky Wrestling exists to help foster the continued development of Collegiate Wrestling in Washington while strengthening the broader wrestling community and allowing an opportunity to continue to improve in one’s skills as an athlete, referee, and/or coach.
How to Get Involved
Current Students
In order to participate in practice, you have to be a member of the UW IMA. This is included in the tuition for UW-Seattle student. UW-Bothell and UW-Tacoma students are able to purchase a quarterly membership at the front desk. To be eligible to compete, UW students (any campus) must register with the NCWA. While competing is encouraged, it is not required.
Non-Students
Not a student? You can still get involved. To practice at the UW IMA, you will need a sponsor to acquire a membership. A sponsor includes current UW students, staff, or faculty. Sponsors are only able to support one membership per quarter and must be present at the time of registration. For competitions, non-students can compete at all open tournaments with a USA Wrestling membership; however, they are not eligible to participate in NCWA events.
Dues
Practice Dues - $30 per quarter
Practice dues help us to keep up with maintenance and equipment.
Competition Dues -$150 first quarter and $100 per quarter thereafter
Competition dues pay for entry fees to meets/tournaments, hotels, etc.
